Six deaths at children’s hospital due to medical negligence: Report

A forensic expert appointed by the NHRC has found medical negligence in six of 20 children deaths at Kalawati Saran Children Hospital over the past five years.

A forensic expert appointed by the NHRC has found medical negligence in six of 20 children deaths at Kalawati Saran Children Hospital over the past five years. Responding to an RTI query from activist Raj Hans Bansal,NHRC said an analysis of treatment records of 20 deceased children,selected at random by NHRC,and examined by AIIMS forensic specialist Dr Adarsh Kumar has found there was no negligence in 14 cases,but medical negligence had been found in the remaining six cases. Bansal had filed an RTI last year,to find out number of children deaths at the hospital.
