“So far, around 2,732 private buses have been registered for plying in Delhi during the odd-even scheme. Out of 2,732 buses, around 1,832 are school buses,” DTC spokesperson Dr R S Minhas said.

Earlier in the day, the transport minister visited BBM depot in north Delhi and took stock of preparations ahead of the scheme.

Minhas said that around 750 buses, which have been given special permits, will be plying on various routes.

On December 4, the Arvind Kejriwal government had announced that 4,000 buses will be “general” buses while 2,000 buses to be taken from schools after their duty hours will have 50 per cent seats reserved for women.
