Noida Film City: Boney Kapoor-led firm submits proposed master plan
The Film City is set to come up in YEIDA’s Sector 21, along the Yamuna Expressway and around 4 km from the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar.
In a major step towards the development of an ‘International Film City’ near Jewar airport, Bayview Bhutani Film City Private Limited, also known as Bayview Projects LLP — a newly formed special purpose vehicle (SPV) led by producer Boney Kapoor and construction giant Bhutani Infra — Tuesday submitted a proposed master plan for the project to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).
“We’ve developed the master plan and submitted it to YEIDA. Once the plan is approved, we will begin the construction by January,” Kapoor told The Indian Express.

The Film City is set to come up in YEIDA’s Sector 21, along the Yamuna Expressway and around 4 km from the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar.
As per the master plan, in the first phase of the project, 230 acres will be developed — while 75 acres will be dedicated to commercial development, the rest will cater to the film industry.
The project, estimated to cost Rs 1,510 crore, is expected to be completed within eight years.
The contract to build Film City was formally issued in June to Bayview Projects LLP. In January, Bayview Projects LLP had decided to offer 18% gross revenue share from the project to the UP government.
As part of the contract, Bayview Projects LLP is required to establish a film institute and several studios within the first three years of the construction period. “We are in discussions with several leading international and national filmmaking institutions and will announce further details about collaborations once the construction process begins,” said Kapoor.

He added that the key aspect of the project is to create a film institute that will focus on technical training in filmmaking, acting, music, and cinematography, and also provide advanced equipment and skilled human resources to filmmakers. “This will eventually reduce production cost,” Kapoor said.
“My plan is to provide directors a space where they can come with a script and walk with an entire movie. All the facilities, from hospitals… to fire stations. It will be a city within a city but will be called a Film City,” he added.
