A 28-year-old street vendor was stabbed by an angry customer who was asked to wait for his turn in Noida’s Sector 49 on Saturday. According to the police, the accused is still on the run and they are trying to nab him.
The victim has been identified as Ravindra Kumar, who lives in Barola village and is originally from the Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. Kumar is being treated at a hospital.
An official said the accused Vikas, who lives nearby, had come to eat golgappas that day and asked Ravindra to serve him first after barging into the crowd of customers. As the dispute escalated, he attacked Ravindra with a knife.
“We are searching for the accused. So far, no such information has come to light that both of them had any previous dispute. The condition of the victim is out of danger,” said an official.
The brother of the victim, Harendra, filed a complaint against Vikas after which a First Information Report (FIR) was registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 323 and 342 at Sector 49 police station.
“On October 14, at around 7.45 pm, my brother Ravindra was selling golgappas in his cart near the drain. Vikas, who lives in the opposite house, had a fight with my brother and he stabbed him in the stomach and ran away from the spot. My brother was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition and has been referred to Delhi,” read the FIR.
