The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested a man from Greater Noida on Friday for allegedly publishing books aimed at “spreading enmity” among religious groups and receiving foreign funds through hawala channels.

According to the ATS, they had received intelligence inputs indicating that a private company in Greater Noida’s Kasna was involved in publishing and distributing literature “promoting communal hatred”. An investigation revealed that Farhan Nabi Qaddiqi, co-director of M/S Istanbul International Pvt Ltd, along with one Nasi Tobaad and others, was involved in the operation. Qaddiqi was arrested from Kasna.

Officials claimed that Qaddiqi and his associates were running multiple entities like Hakikat Wakfi Foundation and Real Global Express Logistic Pvt Ltd, under which books in Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, and Bengali were published and circulated. The ATS also alleged that illegal Bangladeshi nationals were sheltered at Qaddiqi’s residence and that foreign funds, estimated at around Rs 11 crore, were used to purchase land for madrasas and mosques.
