Gurgaon Police on Thursday arrested two college students for allegedly raping a teenage girl.
Police said the accused have been identified as Ankit (19) from Bihar’s Saran district, and Lakshya (18) from UP’s Etah.
Both of them live in Gurgaon, and were nabbed by a police team.
According to a complaint filed by the victim’s father on Tuesday, his minor daughter was abducted on Monday while heading to her tuition classes around 4.30 pm.
The complaint alleged that the two accused took her in a car and raped her. A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the POCSO Act.
Sub-Inspector Kiran, the investigating officer, acted swiftly and arrested the accused on September 18.
“Initial police questioning revealed that both accused are first-year B.Com students and had befriended the victim on Instagram about two-and-a-half months ago. On September 15, the accused, traveling in a Honda City car driven by Lakshya, allegedly lured the victim into the vehicle and took her to a hilly area where they committed the crime,” a police spokesperson said.
The police are continuing their investigation and questioning the accused to gather further details, officials said.
In May, a girl was forced into a parked car and allegedly raped. The Faridabad Police had arrested a construction worker and a labourer in connection with the crime.
According to the complaint filed by her family, the girl had been heading to school when two youths forced her into a parked car by pulling her in through a window.
After allegedly raping her, they threw her out of the car near her village and fled. She had narrated the ordeal to her family upon reaching home, who then approached the police with her.
