Rajkumar, who runs a wholesale toy business in Delhi, said he had booked the helicopter a month ago from Hans
A wedding in Greater Noida’s Rampur Khadar village has become the talk of the region after the groom swept his bride off her feet — quite literally. He flew her home in a helicopter, drawing the entire village to the fields to witness the spectacle.
The groom, Arjun Sharma, hails from Kamalpur village in Bulandshahr, while the bride, Anjali Sharma, is the daughter of a local farmer, Ajay Sharma.

Arjun, who helps his father in the family business, said traveling with his bride by helicopter had always been his childhood dream. “I always thought that when I get married, I’ll bring my wife home in a helicopter. I told my father about this — and he made it happen,” he said.
Preparations began days in advance
Rajkumar, who runs a wholesale toy business in Delhi, said he had booked the helicopter a month ago from Pawans Hans in Noida, paying Rs 4 lakh for a one-hour flight. “It was my son’s dream, and I wanted to fulfill it. We had to visit the DM’s office and the police station multiple times to obtain flight permissions,” he added.
A local resident said the groom’s family set up a temporary helipad in a field outside the village four days ago. “When the helicopter landed around 11 am on Monday, it felt like a fair.”
The wedding ceremony took place on Sunday night with much pomp, and the helicopter bidai the following morning drew hundreds of villagers from both Rampur Khadar and Kamalpur. As the rotorcraft lifted off with the bride and groom aboard, they captured the moment on their mobile phones.
Police confirmed that extra security personnel were deployed to prevent any untoward incidents amid the excitement.
