The Delhi government Thursday directed the Services department to not follow any orders that have not gone through the minister-in-charge.

Saurabh Bharadwaj, who holds the portfolio of Services department, Thursday issued an order to the department directing that no orders will be passed by the Chief Secretary or the Secretary (Services) regarding any category of employee.

“In suppression of all earlier orders, it is hereby directed that no orders of any category of employees shall be passed by the CS or Secretary (services) or the Services department without the approval of the undersigned (Bharadwaj),” read the order.

Following Bharadwaj’s orders, Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar on the same day issued an order directing all officials of the Services Department to ensure strict compliance.

“It is further directed that all officers/officials shall follow the statutory provisions (laws /rules/regulations, as applicable) and shall mention the channel of submission as well as the Competent Authority to approve such proposals in terms of applicable statutory provisions, while processing any matter of the Services Department,” read the order issued by Kumar.

The order was also marked to Lieutenant Governor (LG), Secretary to Services Minister and the Additional Secretary to Chief Minister.
