The Delhi Jal Board has implemented a 24-hour shutdown of water supply due to repair works, affecting areas including Greater Kailash, Lok Nayak Hospital, Rajghat, Delhi Zoo and nearby areas, from Thursday evening.
A press release on Thursday said, “A shutdown for 24 hrs w.e.f. 05:00 PM to 5:00 PM on dated 22.05.2025 will be in force… for the work of Raising of 900mm dia Duplicate main pipe line which is blocking the flow of drain no.12A near WHO.”
As a result, water supply to the Wazirabad water treatment plant has been stopped.
The Delhi Jal Board has said that water tankers would be available as per requirement on contacting the helpline number.
The Central Control Room can be contacted by dialling 1916, it added.
Last month, water supply was disrupted in several areas of South Delhi as the Capital reeled under summer temperatures.
The disruption affected areas including Chirag Delhi, Khirki Extension, Panchsheel Vihar, and Saket, due to maintenance work on the BRT Road in Sadiq Nagar.
“The consumers are advised to store a sufficient quantity of water. During the shutdown period, water tankers will be available on request for water emergencies…” read the statement issued then.
