The assets of BJP candidate for Lok Sabha in Gurgaon, Rao Inderjit Singh, who has been the MP in the seat for three terms, have seen an almost 189% increase over the past five years.
Singh filed his nomination Monday and according to his affidavit, the assets, movable and immovable, have seen a growth of 188.7% while his income saw a spike of 19%.

As per his 2019 affidavit, the MP had movable assets, which include cash, jewellery, bonds and debentures and vehicles, worth Rs 20.56 crore. These have now grown to Rs 39.31 crore in 2024. The sizable increase was seen in his immovable assets too which grew from 20.56 crore in 2019 to Rs 82.23 crore in 2024. The 74-year-old is the minister of state for the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation; Ministry of Planning; and Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
His income has grown from Rs 2.12 crore in 2019 to 2.54 crore in 2024 while his liability stands at Rs 13.36 crore.
The assets are a sum of those belonging to the MP, his spouse, and the Hindu Undivided Family. His immovable assets include residential and commercial buildings along with agricultural and non-agricultural property, which are inherited and self-acquired. He owns residential buildings in Delhi’s Satbari and Defence Colony, along with Shimla, Dehradun, and Nainital. He also owns a Toyota Innova and a Toyota Camry and has commercial buildings in Delhi and Gurgaon.
Singh belongs to Bawal Assembly constituency and is the son of former CM Rao Birender Singh. His affidavit states that no FIR has been registered against him.
Accompanying Singh for nomination filing, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini spoke about Singh’s major projects over the past five years, including the Dwarka Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai expressway and the AIIMS being built in Rewari. The Gurgaon portion of Dwarka expressway was inaugurated in March this year. In 2019, while spelling out works of his term from 2014 to 2019, Singh had said that he had given the people AIIMS in Rewari, the foundation stone of which was laid in 2023.

Meanwhile, the Congress has not announced its candidate yet, drawing flak from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The CM said the Congress only indulges in empty rhetoric and their work has been reduced to mere opposition. He said the Congress does not have candidates to contest the elections.
An independent candidate also filed his nomination Monday. A Badshahpur resident, Fauji Jai Kawar Tyagi (69) is contesting against Singh and has declared income of Rs 10 lakh and assets worth Rs 111 crore.
