If the party does not step forward, which we suspect it will not, we will pitch this as an admission of their guilt to the people,” another leader said.

Beginning with a demonstration outside its office, timed to coincide with former AAP minister Manish Sisodia’s production at court Friday, the BJP will set in motion what leaders hope is a ‘400-day plan’ to uproot the AAP from the helm of governance in the city and from politics across the country.

In the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, party sources said the BJP hopes to corner the AAP over 10 specific allegations of corruption in government departments.

“We will spend the next 400 days, till the Lok Sabha elections next May, pitching the Chief Minister as the face of corruption in Delhi who has so far hidden behind his cabinet colleagues. The campaign will continue daily till the 2025 Delhi Assembly polls,” a party leader said.

“There are 10 specific scams in as many government departments under the AAP which we will dare Kejriwal, as their mastermind, to debate us on publicly – just like we had on the issue of the excise scam. If the party does not step forward, which we suspect it will not, we will pitch this as an admission of their guilt to the people,” another leader said.

To be led by Delhi BJP working president Virendra Sachdeva and Leader of Opposition Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, the party has scheduled a protest a stone’s throw from the Rouse Avenue Court on Friday.

As per leaders aware of the strategy, the party plans to corner the AAP government on 10 specific allegations of corruption including the excise scam, giving ‘leeway to power companies’ in regard to subsidy, ‘classroom scam’, etc. Others issues include an alleged scam related to annual maintenance contract of DTC buses, alleged registration of ghost construction workers being investigated by Anti-Corruption Branch, alleged scam in the DJB, in construction of temporary hospitals and the feedback unit.

“The AAP is already reeling under an organisational crisis due to Satyendar Jain’s and Manish Sisodia’s arrests and resignation from the Cabinet; its second-tier leadership is now non-existent,” a party source said.

“We intend to capitalise on this to stoke resentment within the AAP’s ranks by pitching how these formerly close aides of Kejriwal have now been left to fend for themselves by being made to resign from their posts as soon as they became a liability for the Chief Minister…,” the source added.
