The campaign was inaugurated by the sect leader,Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh at 8 in the morning from Rajghat.

On the occasion,he said,“Delhi is the heart of the country and to clean the city up is symbolic. Other than cleaning the streets,we will go to houses and educate people them about methods to keep the city clean.”

The organisers said that the campaign was a run-up to the sect’s annual celebrations on September 23.

Singh said,“On that day,we will organise blood and eye donation camps as well as taking a pledge against corruption.”

Though majority of the volunteers were from Haryana, there were some who had come to join the campaign from other parts of the country as well.
