Three young men drowned inside a water pit at an under-construction golf court in Sector 23 in Delhi’s Dwarka Saturday. The police said the deceased have been identified as Arun, Arjun, and Abhishek, aged between 20 to 25 years.
DCP (Dwarka) Harsh Vardhan said they received information at around 8 pm that three men have entered inside water and had not returned. Harsh Vardhan said, “It was found that a group of four men had jumped over the wall and entered an under-construction golf course in Dwarka Sector 23”.
He said the men were playing football in Sector 19 when they decided to enter the under-construction golf course.
“Three of the men left their bags by the side of the grass, entered a water pit on the golf course and drowned. Their bodies have been recovered and inquest proceedings are being conducted,” said the officer.
“Prime facie, it is not rain or flood-related. The water pit is a feature of an under-construction golf course. However, further inquiry is ongoing,” he added.
