An elderly tailor was murdered by his son-in-law in Jalahalli on Wednesday.
Damodhar Reddy,58,of Bahubali Nagar near Jalahalli,was killed by Naveen Kumar following an argument over dowry harassment,deputy commissioner of police Sandeep Patil said.
Reddys daughter Usha was married to Kumar,a taxi driver,about eight years ago and the couple had two children. Usha got work at a private firm four months ago and her mother would come to take care of her children. Kumar resented this and started to harass his in-laws for dowry,the police said. When Reddy protested the harassment,Kumar stabbed him.
