Youths held for abducting,assaulting two

Four youths were arrested on Saturday after they allegedly abducted and assaulted two ‘old rivals’ late on Friday night.

Four youths were arrested on Saturday after they allegedly abducted and assaulted two ‘old rivals’ late on Friday night. Ashish Kumar (24) and Makhan Singh (25) sustained injuries and have been admitted in GMSH-16. Acting on their complaint,the police arrested Lavey,Ranjit Singh,Parwinder Singh and Vikramjit Singh. All of them were produced in court and have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. The assailants first abducted Ashish Kumar on the pretext of taking him out. Instead,they took him to Nada Sahib in Panchkula and assaulted him with blunt weapons. Later,they called Ashish’s friend,Makhan Singh,near Doaba Sweets in Sector 21,claiming that Ashish was in trouble. The police added that the accused abandoned both after assaulting them. Inspector Ram Gopal said the victims somehow contacted their family.
