As many as 80 teams from various engineering colleges from across the country will compete in the vehicle-design competition -EFFI-CYCLE – being organised by the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET),Panjab University (PU) from October 11-13.
EFFI-CYCLE is being organised with an objective to encourage students to design,simulate and fabricate a highly efficient human powered vehicle which is environment friendly. The competing teams,consisting of undergraduate engineering students,will fabricate a prototype of 3-wheel combination,which will be driven with the help of both human power and electric generator (human-electric hybrid power).
The competition will provide an opportunity to engineering students to set up a trend of using eco-friendly vehicles in India and pioneering the creation of innovative designs. The Human Powered Vehicle is expected to cater to the day-to-day mobility needs of people,and at the same time leading to fuel conservation. ENS
