Police on Thursday registered a case of theft after some unidentified persons decamped with cameras at a shop in Sector 16 in the city and later set it on fire.
According to police the case was registered of the incident of theft on Thursday at Sai Photo Vision. Unidentified persons had broken into the shop and later they decamped with cameras and also set the shop on fire.
Besides the theft of five still cameras,the loss of one video camera was also reported. The owners said that one of the video cameras,which had got damaged,was left by the thieves and they did not decamp with it.
The theft is reported to have taken place early Thursday morning. The estimated loss to property is over Rs 25 lakh.
Owners of the shop said that they were informed by a local shopkeeper that smoke was billowing out from the shop. After they opened the shop they found that some of the cameras were stolen. The main almirah of the shop was put on fire.
Panchkula Police said that the investigation in the case is still going on.
