Sukhjit claims top spot

Sukhjit Kaur of Bathinda claimed the top spot with a timing of four minutes and 40.61 seconds in the 1500 metre race in the Punjab State Games for Women being organised by Punjab Sports Department at Raja Bhilendra Singh Stadium,Patiala, on Thursday.

Kulwinder Kaur of Hoshiarpur finished second with a timing of four minutes and 43.9 seconds,while the third spot was bagged by Navjoban Kaur after clocking four minutes and 47.11 seconds.

In the high jump event,Navpreet Kaur emerged winner with a jump of 1.52 meters,while the second spot was claimed by Devi Punia with a jump of 1.49 meters. The third position went to Parneet Kaur with a jump of 1.40 meters.

In kabaddi,Jalandhar scored a thumping 21-6 win over Sangrur in the final. Ludhiana and Bathindha claimed the third spot jointly. In kho-kho,Sangrur scored a six point win over Ludhiana to move into the finals,while in the other semi-finals,Jalandhar scored an easy ten-point win over Patiala.

In uneven bars,Monika of Gurdaspur claimed the top spot with a score of 10.80,while Gulwinder did well to finish second with 10.15 points. The third position went to Seetu of Patiala with 8.70 points.
