Vishal claims top spot

Vishal Garg claimed first position in the 5000 m race in the boys category on the first day of three-day Athletic Meet at Punjab Engineering College,University of Technology in Chandigarh on Thursday. Pankaj came second while Deepak Gulia finished third.

Kabaddi meet from tomorrow

Chandigarh Kabaddi Association will organise State Kabaddi Championship for senior,junior,sub-junior (boys and girls) on March 13 and 14 at the kabaddi ground,Sports Complex,Sector 42. Weigh-in will begin at 9.30 am at the venue on March 13. Entries close with Devinder Singh Kohli,coach,at the venue.

Tennis championship from March 13

The Total Tennis Academy will organise Late LD Kapoor Memorial Total Tennis Championship for seniors at the Total Tennis Academy ‘s YMCA,Sector 11,Chandigarh premises on March 13 and 14 from 9am onwards. The open championship will be played for seniors 35+,45+,55+ singles and doubles category. Interested players can send their entries to Devinder Kapoor on 9814200030 by March 12 by 5 pm.

Tanisha,Mansirat given Golf Sets

Tanisha Singh of Carmel Convent and Mansirat Singh Bedi of St. Stephens School Chandigarh were today adjudged most dedicated golfers for the year 2009 during ICGA’s Summer Camp and presented Golf Sets by Birinder Gill,president,CGC and Ray Sidhu,president,ICGA,in an impressive function organised at Chandigarh Golf Club. Golf Sets were donated by ICGA Canada under their Jr. Golf Development Programme. Meanwhile,a three-month junior golf camp will get underway from March 14 at the Club. Their Overseas Director,Manjit Kochar based at Chandigarh who is also a golf teaching professional at Chandigarh Golf Club will conduct the camp.
