Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C has said 226 nominations were filed on Tuesday, the last day for filing nominations for the 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state, bringing the total number of nominations from May 7 to May 14 to 598.
Most of the candidates who filed nominations on the last day were Independents. Sibin C said nomination papers will be scrutinised on Wednesday, and candidates can withdraw their nominations until Friday, May 17. The 13 seats in Punjab will go to poll in the seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha elections on June 1.

Amritsar: 18, including Emaan Singh Mann of Shiromani Akali Dal.
Khadoor Sahib: 15, including Harpal Singh of the SAD.
Jalandhar: 18, including Sarabjit Singh of the SAD.
Hoshiarpur: 10, including Jaswant Singh of the SAD.
Anandpur Sahib: 23
Ludhiana: 31
Fatehgarh Sahib: 17, including Amar Singh of the Congress and Geja Ram of the BJP.
Faridkot: 16, including Karamjit Singh Anmol of the AAP.
Ferozepur: 19
Bathinda: 17
Sangrur: 15
