Keeping in view of the prevailing situation, the Ludhiana district administration completed water works in Gaib Di Puli on the intervening night of Wednesday, thus preventing the accumulation of water in the residential colonies in Khanna.
A team led by Sub Divisional Magistrate Samrala Kuldeep Singh Bawa, who also holds additional charge of the Khanna sub-division, worked for over six hours, using manpower and machinery to ensure the clearing of the bottlenecks to ensure the smooth flow of water in the traditional and old bodies.
Bawa said that the district administration was leaving no stone unturned to provide relief to the flood-affected residents of the villages. He said that elaborate arrangements were made in the rescue centres where meals, food items and medical facilities are available round the clock.
