Senior Congress leader and former minister Brahm Mohindra was quizzed by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau Friday in connection with a disproportionate assets complaint against him.

A six-time legislator, Mohindra was questioned at the Vigilance Bureau office in Mohali for over four hours and was given a questionnaire. He is likely to be called again by the Vigilance Bureau.

Mohindra said he appeared before the VB in connection with an alleged disproportionate assets complaint. “The questionnaire revolved around that complaint. I tried my level best to satisfy them. If I am called again, as a law-abiding citizen, I will appear once again to present my side. The Vigilance Bureau is duty-bound to do whatever task is given to them by the government,” Mohindra said, adding, “I have been a six-time lawmaker and cannot break a law. I have an unblemished record.”

“While all property details are there in the affidavit which is given while filing nominations and also there is detailed information in the income tax returns, I will provide whatever other information is sought from me,” said Mohindra.
