As many as 105 students at the University Business School (UBS), Panjab University, have already got placements during the current academic year 2024–2025. The highest annual CTC offered was Rs 25.11 lakh per annum (LPA), while the average CTC is Rs 12.95 LPA.
UBS, PU, is considered one of north India’s premier institutions for management education. This year’s placement season marks a significant milestone, with a commendable number of students securing lucrative offers across diverse industry sectors. More than 55 recruiters participated across sectors such as IT, finance, consulting, e-commerce, and FMCG. Sought-after roles included business analytics, business development, sales and marketing, operations, supply chain management, financial analysis, HR analytics, HRBP and talent acquisition, reflecting the diverse skill sets of UBS students and the dynamic needs of the market.
Prof Renu Vig, Vice-Chancellor, PU, said, “This outstanding placement performance reflects the academic excellence and professional readiness that UBS instils in its students. It also demonstrates the continued trust that leading recruiters place in our talent. We take great pride in the faculty, students, and leadership who uphold the university’s strong legacy of excellence.”
Prof Parmjit Kaur, chairperson of University Business School and Dean Business Management and Commerce, said that this year’s placement results are a testament to the dedication of students and the institution’s industry-aligned academic model. “Our collaborative approach, engaging faculty, corporate mentors, alumni, and training professionals, has played a vital role in shaping globally competent professionals,” said Kaur.
Prof Meena Sharma, Professor UBS, while congratulating the students, said, “The Central Placement Cell helps students hone their skills throughout the year. The success is a combined effort of all the stakeholders of UBS.”
Prof Purva Kansal, head of the Corporate Training and Placement Cell at UBS, added that the success reflects the impact of consistent industry engagement, structured pre-placement training, and a forward-looking curriculum that aligns with real-world business needs.
To prepare students for successful placements, UBS implemented a robust training ecosystem, which included aptitude and reasoning preparation, resume-building workshops, mock interviews and group discussions, technical and domain-specific training, soft skills and communication development and industry expert sessions and alumni engagement.
Abhimanyu Singh Parmar, who got an opportunity with Airtel, did a summer internship with the company. The experience has been both challenging and rewarding for him. “It taught me the value of persistence, adaptability, and continuous learning,” said Parmar, who thanks his mentors at UBS for providing a platform that nurtured both his professional and personal development.
Yash Srivastava will begin his professional journey with Swan Energy and asserts that this achievement was made possible by the holistic learning experience he received over the past two years at UBS, while Aryan Malik, who has been placed with Arcesium as an analyst, describes it as a dream he has worked relentlessly towards, with UBS having played a pivotal role in this journey.
Teg Mahip Kaur, who secured an offer with Avery Dennison, credits the faculty and UBS for providing a direction that extends far beyond the classroom. Phalguni Gupta says that getting a position at American Express results from the rigorous academic environment, the faculty and the relentless support of the placement cell. Akanksha Sharma adds that joining Deloitte as an associate solution advisor marks an exciting new chapter, and the journey at UBS has been filled with learning, challenges, and growth.
Encouraged by the success of the 2024–2025 season, UBS aims to expand its global industry network and explore new opportunities in emerging domains such as data analytics, digital marketing, FinTech, and entrepreneurship.
UBS was established in 1968 and renamed UBS in 1995. The school offers a range of postgraduate and doctoral programmes including MBA (General), MBA in International Business, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, and Business Data Analytics, as well as MBA for executive, MCom (Hons) and PhD courses.
