The Panjab University, Chandigarh, Thursday announced the final list of candidates contesting for the offices of president, vice-president, secretary, and joint secretary of the Panjab University Campus Students’ Council (PUCSC) 2025-26. The election is to be held on September 3, 2025.
The president’s post will see a contest among candidates including Ardas (UIFT), Gaurav Veer Sohal (Laws), Jobanpreet Singh (Philosophy), Mankirat Singh Mann (UIET), Navneet Kaur (UILS), Parabjot Singh Gill (Laws), Seerat (UIET), and Sumit Kumar (Geography).
For vice-president, the candidates are Ashmeet Singh (UILS), Esha Chander (Biophysics), Jatin Kamboj (UIET), Navdeep Singh (Centre for Human Rights), and Naveen Kumar (Defence & National Security Studies).
The secretary’s post will be contested by Abhishek Dagar (UILS), Jatin (UIET), Komal Preet Kaur (UILS), Sahil Jangra (Laws), and Vishesh Anand Dhaka (Anthropology).
Candidates for joint secretary comprise Aryan Verma (Laws), Mohit Manderana (Public Administration), Sagar Khatri (Gandhian & Peace Studies), and Sidharth Boora (UIET).
PU has announced that all teaching departments, institutes and centres of the university will be working on Saturday, August 30, in view of the Panjab University Campus Students’ Council Elections to be held on September 3. The timetable of September 4 will instead be followed on August 30. Instead of the working day on Thursday, August 30, 2025, September 4 will be observed as a holiday in all teaching departments, institutes, centres, and the office of the Dean of Student Welfare.
