One of 3 rape convicts who jumped parole held

Of the three convicts who jumped parole while serving life sentence,Chandigarh Police arrested one of them on Saturday. They were held guilty of rape of a German national.

The other two,Sukhvinder Singh and Som Pal,are still absconding. A few days ago,police had put a reward of Rs 50,000 for information about Harpreet,Sukhvinder and Som Pal. Harpreet was arrested at a police barricade near Sector 42/43/52/53 roundabout. At 2.15 pm,police stopped a white Swift car,bearing a Haryana registration number (HR-15-G-0015). Investigations revealed that one of the two occupants of the car was Harpreet Singh.

On interrogation,it was found that the registration number of the car,in which the accused were riding,was fake and that the accused had stolen the car from Ambala in July this year. On further interrogation,Harpreet disclosed that he had met Onkar and his three accomplices after jumping parole.
