Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will announce three big road projects for Haryana on Tuesday.
Giving details about the projects, Haryana’s deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, who also holds the portfolio of Public Works Department (PWD), said, “The union minister will announce various major road development projects worth about Rs 3,700 crores. He will inaugurate 11 flyovers on the eight-lane National Highway from Delhi to Panipat in Sonipat at 11 am. The project is 24-km-long with an estimated cost of around Rs 900 crores. The Union minister will also lay the foundation stone for the construction work of Karnal Green Field Six-Lane Ring Road project at village Kutail in Karnal district at 3.30 pm. The total length of this project is 35 km and it will cost about Rs 1,700 crores. At 5.30 pm, the Union Minister will lay the foundation stone of the construction work of Ambala Green Field Six Lane Ring Road project at village Jandli in Ambala district. The total length of this project is 23 km with an estimated cost of around Rs 1,100 crores”.
“The government is continuously strengthening the road network. These three major road projects will change the picture of infrastructure in the state and will also give a new direction to the development of industries. Along with Haryana, the passengers of Punjab, Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir passing through Delhi-Panipat corridor will also get complete benefit of this road project. Similarly, the construction of Ambala and Karnal Ring Road will provide relief to the local people from the traffic congestion in the city in both the districts,” Dushyant Chautala said.
