Murdered auto mechanic was police informer: Crime branch

Police suspect that the deceased was involved in a fight before he was allegedly murdered.

Auto mechanic Inder Kumar,found murdered on October 15 was a police informer,the Crime Branch revealed Saturday. Police suspect that the deceased was involved in a fight before he was allegedly murdered,as a brick was found in his right hand. “The deceased often provided the police with tip-offs. We are at present trying to identify the person with whom he had his last conversation,” said Satbir Singh,DSP Crime Branch.

Around 8.45 am on October 15,Inder Kumar,a resident of Panchkula was found murdered at an agricultural land in Kaimbwala village. A case of murder under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered with the Sector 3 police.

To probe the case further,a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed under the Singh’s supervision.
