MLA Kulwant Singh Friday flagged off two vehicles loaded with relief material from the District Administrative Complex, Mohali, for families struggling in the flood-affected border districts. The consignment comprised dry ration kits, safe drinking water, tarpaulins, medicines, and cattle feed.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh said, “This is the right time to extend help for the people and their milch cattle. The border residents are going through extremely tough times, having lost almost everything to the floods.”
The MLA appreciated the district administration and District Red Cross Society for contributing 300 ration kits, while the Rotary Club and Mohali Industries Association also extended crucial support. He said that the Verka Milk Plant, Mohali, had dispatched 700 ration kits a day earlier.
Acknowledging the devastation caused by nature’s fury, Singh emphasised that collective efforts can help affected families gradually return to normalcy. He urged everyone to come forward and serve humanity in this crisis.
He was joined by Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, Dr Sunny Singh Ahluwalia, Prabhjot Kaur, ADC (G) Geetika Singh, SDM Damandeep Kaur, Govind Mittal, Harbans Singh, and AAP leaders Tarlochan Singh Mataur and Jagsir Singh.
