Man held for beating,threatening 16-year-old

The UT police arrested a 20-year-old from Baltana,Zirakpur,on charges of allegedly beating and threatening a 16-year-old fellow schoolmate.

The UT police arrested a 20-year-old from Baltana,Zirakpur,on charges of allegedly beating and threatening a 16-year-old fellow schoolmate.

The incident took place on October 16 when the complainant,Gurtej Singh,was returning from his coaching classes in Panchkula on a two-wheeler. Accompanied by a friend,Ravi,the duo stopped on the way for some discussion.

Meanwhile,the accused,Mobin,aged 20,approached the duo and asked to borrow their two-wheeler.

In response,Gurtej refused to give the two-wheeler to Mobin,saying that he did not know him.

Mobin and Gurtej subsequently ended up in a scuffle near the government tube well,Vikas Nagar,in which Gurtej was injured and is admitted to PGI.

However,the duo,Gurtej and Ravi did not report the incident to the police till Mobin allegedly called Gurtej and threatened to kill him if he told anyone about the incident.

Both Gurtej and Ravi are students of Khalsa School,Sector 35.

Mobin was produced in a local court and has been sent to judicial custody,according to police officials.
