Majithia hints at Kang’s ouster

The ‘rebel’ sitting SAD (B) MLA from Beas,Manjinder Singh Kang,may be shown the door by the party for siding with ousted finance minister Manpreet Badal. Former minister and Majitha MLA Bikram Singh Majithia held a major political gathering at Baba Bakala on Wednesday where he announced from the stage that Kang was “absconding”,but “that does not mean there is no one to take care of Beas”. Kang had been put on notice by the party’s disciplinary committee recently for “anti-party activities”. Kang,whose constituency had been dissolved after delimitation,was trying to be fielded from other areas and had alleged that Majithia was interfering in his areas. Wednesday’s function was organised on the anniversary of Darshan Singh Pheruman,who died fighting for the Punjabi Suba. Majithia made it clear that he would now be calling the shots and Kang’s days in the party were numbered. “What if Kang is not with you? CM Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal are with you. We will not let the people of the constituency down,” Majithia said in a statement issued later.
