Kidney patient needs financial help

Two years ago, Sona Patowary was diagnosed with kidney failure. To bear the expenses of the treatment, she closed down the beauty parlour that she used to run.

A 34-year-old kidney patient from Guwahati, who is undergoing treatment at the Nephrology Department of PGIMER, needs financial help.

Two years ago, Sona Patowary was diagnosed with kidney failure. To bear the expenses of the treatment, she closed down the beauty parlour that she used to run.

Her husband, an autorickshaw driver, also sold his vehicle and the house they used to live in. The couple then reached PGI. So far, they have spent more than Rs 7 lakh for treatment.

Last month, Sona underwent a kidney transplantation, but the organ had to be removed.

Sona now needs to undergo another transplantation, which will cost Rs 2 lakh.
