Jasvir bowls GMSS-26 to win

A hostile bowling spell from Jasvir saw the opposition Saupin's School,Sector 32 team being bowled out for 86 runs while chasing 92 runs to record win over GMSS-26 in the Under-16 Inter-School Cricket tournament on Friday.

Batting first,GMSS-26 made 92 in 19.4 overs. Anish top scored with 20 runs. Chasing the modest total,Saupin’s batsmen could not face Jasvir and were bowled out for a paltry 86 in 19 overs. Abhishek top scored with 33 runs. Karan bagged 3 for 21.

Ankush claims title
CHANDIGARH:
Coming up with a superb performance,Ankush rallied to defeat Sheetij Chhillar 6-1,6-4 in boys’ singles final in the AITA Talent Series Tennis Championship at the Ambala Lawn Tennis Academy courts in Ambala on Friday. The boys’ doubles title went to Ishan Kakkar and Rahul Seth who combined to record a 7-5,3-6,6-1 win over Ankush Arora and Nihit Rawal in a marathon match. Meanwhile,in the girls’ singles final,Himani Mor blanked Pukhraj Kaur 6-0,6-0.

Rupinder wins U-16 badminton title
CHANDIGARH:
Rupinider Singh,a student of Shivalik Public School,defeated Arun George of TOCH Public School,Ernakulam,21-17,21-10 in the final to win the boys’ Under-16 title of the 18th CBSE National Badminton Championship held at Mohali.

Nischay wins U-14 singles title
CHANDIGARH:
Despite playing away from home,Nischay Rawal,a CLTA trainee,still managed to play at his best and pocketed the boys’ U-14 singles title after defeating Vidit Waghela of Gujarat 6-1,6-3 in the final of AITA Super Series Tournament at Ahmedabad. The student of St Anne’s Convent Senior Secondary School,Sector 32,however,lost the doubles title as he and Anvit Bendre went down to Suraj Kunwar and Dishit in the U-14 doubles final 6-7,1-6.

SAM PuttLab to be inaugurated today
CHANDIGARH:
The latest model of SAM PuttLab,a golf putting stroke analysis and training system based on accurate ultrasound measurements,will be inaugurated at Chandigarh Golf Club on November 21 at 11am. Harmeet Kahlon,director,CGC,and Ajay Gujral,joint director,will operate the SAM PuttLab and give instructions to golfers. The technology also analyses the 28 most important parameters of a golfers putting stroke and displays the results in an easy to understand graphic report. The latest model of the SAM PuttLab that the Chandigarh Golf Club has recently imported is completely wireless.

Kharar school nat’l tug-of-war champion
KHARAR:
Khalsa Senior Secondary School,Kharar,has emerged champion in the national junior and sub-junior tug-of-war championships held at Railway Stadium in Agra (Uttar Pradesh). The school students,who represented Punjab in the championship,won gold medals in both the championships,principal Avtar Singh Gill said. Team coach Nirmal Singh Mundi disclosed that in the finals of sub-junior and junior championship,Punjab beat Haryana and Delhi,respectively,to win the titles.

Torben wins table soccer title
CHANDIGARH:
Germany’s Torben Merz claimed the junior singles title by defeating Harvinder Singh Johal 5-4,5-3 in the final match of the India Open Master International Table Soccer Series at the Manav Mangal Smart School hall in Mohali on Friday. Torgen recorded a goal average of +36 by playing five matches with an all-win record. Harvinder Johal also played five matches,won four and lost one (final). His goal average was recorded at +22. Arshad Mohammad of France finished third. The fourth position went to Anu Bibyan of France.

Angand,Shreen adjudged best athletes
CHANDIGARH:
Angand Madra and Shreen were declared the best athletes during Annual Sports Day of the Doon International School,Mohali,at the Sector 46 Sports Complex on Friday. The overall champion House Trophy for Inter -House activities was claimed by Teresa House. Akbar House walked away with the best March Past Trophy. The Teressa House also won the Best House for athletic events.

Cricket tourney on anvil
PANCHKULA:
Satluj Public School,Sector 4,will organise Satluj Winter Champions Trophy Under-17 Inter-School Cricket tournament at the school premises from November 28. Interested teams can submit their entries till November 25. Players born on or after 31 August,1992 can participate in this tournament. Shooting Ball trials tomorrow
CHANDIGARH:
Shooting Ball Association of Chandigarh (SBAC) will hold trials for the selection of Chandigarh Shooting Ball team on November 22 at the National Club ground,Sector 52,Chandigarh at 10 am. According to RK Loomba,general secretary,SBAC,the selected team will then participate in the 28th National Shooting Ball Championship to be held from November 27 to 29 at Jhajjar (Haryana).
