The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday extended the interim bail granted to a Delhi-based TV reporter, while deferring till Tuesday the hearing on a plea that demanded the quashing of the FIR that had been filed in the case.
The HC had on Saturday granted interim bail to TV reporter Bhawana Kishore till Monday, while also commencing the hearing in a plea related to quashing the FIR against her and her colleague Mrityunjay Kumar, and the driver of their car, Parminder Singh.
On Monday, Punjab Advocate General informed the court that the complainant has been informed about the pendency of the present case and the proceedings.
Meanwhile, an affidavit was filed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Emergency Response cum Nodal officer, SC/ST Cases, stating that the petitioners’ allegations that the FIR against them has been registered with political motive, are totally false. The Bench of Augustine George Masih deferred the hearing for May 9.
