He said the Rajiv Gandhi Augmentation Drinking Water Project is being implemented with the financial support from National Capital Region (NCR) Planning Board, for providing sustainable water supply facilities in the Mewat.
The project envisages construction of three ranney wells in the plains of river Yamuna, transporting water through a network of distribution system with boosting stations at appropriate places, and installation of 290 tubewells in the foothills of the Aravali range.
The project is 85 per cent complete and 148 villages would be provided safe drinking water by February 28,based on Ranney Well Segment. Another 245 villages would get safe drinking water through tubewells.
