Chandigarh athlete wins silver medal in swimming at Special Olympics World Games

Prathna Bhatia, an athlete from the Special Cell of Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh has clinched a Silver Medal in 50 metres freestyle swimming at the Special Olympics World Games held at Berlin.

The event was held on June 23.

Prathna represented the city of Chandigarh and participated in the ‘World Special Olympics held in Berlin, Germany’, under the banner of ‘Special Olympics Bharat’, Chandigarh Chapter.

“Her remarkable achievement was accomplished after persistent hard work. The young swimmer was part of group 5 in the 50 metres free style category,” her school said in a statement issued this morning.

Education Director cum Senior Principal of her school Bhavan Vidyalaya, Vineeta Arora congratulated Prathna Bhatia and her parents on this stupendous achievement and wished her the very best for her future endeavours.
