An active operative of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) with links to Pakistan-based ISI was arrested on Thursday in a joint operation by the police forces of Uttar Pradesh Police and Punjab, officials said.
The terrorist identified as Lajar Masih, a resident of Amritsar district in Punjab, was nabbed from the Kokhraj police station area of Uttar Pradesh.
A significant cache of arms and explosives, including hand grenades and a foreign-made pistol, has been recovered from Masih, according to Gaurav Yadav, Punjab Director General of Police.
Masih is wanted in multiple criminal cases in Punjab and further investigations are underway.
DGP Yadav stated that the accused was working under the direction of Germany-based BKI operative Swaran Singh alias Jeevan Fauji and was in direct contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI.
