Asav & Sarah show off their mettle

Riding high on great serve and on court skills,top seed Asav Kumar of Chandigarh overpowered Siddharth Sharma of Delhi in straight sets 4-1,4-2 in the first round of the U-12 boys section to advance further during the ongoing CLTA-AITA Talent Series tennis tournament being held at the CLTA courts in Chandigarh.

Riding high on great serve and on court skills,top seed Asav Kumar of Chandigarh overpowered Siddharth Sharma of Delhi in straight sets 4-1,4-2 in the first round of the U-12 boys section to advance further during the ongoing CLTA-AITA Talent Series tennis tournament being held at the CLTA courts in Chandigarh. Meanwhile,top seed Sarah Dev displayed tremendous tennis to win her matches in the first round of U-12 and U-14 girls categories. She outplayed Luvya Lamba 4-1,4-0 in the U-12 match,and cleaned-up Reet Malik 9-0 to surge ahead.

Playing in the boys U-14 section, top seed Sagar Bains of Chandigarh got the better of Savneet Singh Bajwa 9-1,while third seed Shrut Mohan of Punjab was given tough fight by CHART trainee Shashi Kant. Shashi Kant went down in final set tie-breaker. Then sixth seed Kanishk Pal was stretched to final set tie-breaker by Daksh Marwaha. Eventually,Kanishk Pal won 5-3,1-4,7-4. The fourth seed Chiraz Singh Dandona of CLTA faced resistance from his opponent Sammar Raina,but managed to win in the end 1-4,4-1,7-3.
