A day left for campaigning,nominees enter do-or-die mode

Haryana PWD Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala campaigned for Congress candidates in different wards,while actor Kirron Kher held the fort for BJP candidates by appealing to the residents to vote for them.

Haryana PWD Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala campaigned for Congress candidates in different wards,while actor Kirron Kher held the fort for BJP candidates by appealing to the residents to vote for them. Some independent candidates,received a boost with support being extended to them. With just one day left for campaigning,the candidates wooed voters on Wednesday.

Surjewala addressed a public meeting in Sector 20 for candidate H S Lucky. He asked people to vote for Lucky stating that he would be able to solve the problems of the ward. He urged the government employees to vote in large numbers for Lucky. Addressing the gathering,Lucky said that he would ensure all round development of the ward making it a model ward.

The minister also campaigned for ward 18 candidate Devinder Singh Babla. Apart from going door-to-door with Babla,he addressed a meeting. Surjewala sought support for ward 1 candidate Raj Bala Malik,addressing a gathering in Sector 7.

Other Congress candidates also continued with their campaign,meeting residents door-to-door as well as holding rallies. Jatinder Bhatia,the candidate from ward 22 said that cohesiveness between electricity,public health and PWD departments and getting rid of stray cattle was among his agenda for the ward. Candidate from ward 4,Poonam Sharma while campaigning door-to-door opined that the there was a need for maintenance of parks and upkeep of the janj ghar. The campaign of Mukesh Bassi in ward 17 received a warm response from the residents.

Ward 25 candidate Chitranjan Chanchal laid stress on basic facilities to the residents. He had a special meeting with the community heads of different religions while continuing with his campaign. While Sheela Devi held corner meetings in Kajheri,Kamlesh held a padyatra in ward 24.

Candidates in ward 10 and 9,Jasbir Singh Bunty and Gurbax Rawat met the residents of the area. In ward 20,Satish Kainth campaigned in Industrial Area,Phase I. Ward 21 candidate Indu Singla held a series of public meetings in the ward.

Meanwhile in the BJP,Kirron Kher was the star attraction in a number of wards in the city. In ward 18,she campaigned for candidate Satinder Singh. She appealed to the people to ensure his victory. Satinder promised overall development of the ward. Kher campaigned for ward 22 candidate Devesh Moudgil where a corner meeting was held. She also appealed to the residents in ward 21 and 17 to vote for Heera Negi and J P Malhotra respectively.

Satinder Dhawan,the BJP candidate in ward 1 held a padyatra and cornet meeting in the ward. In Sector 9,senior leader Harmohan Dhawan appealed to vote for her. Saurabh Joshi,candidate for ward 2 campaigned at Khuda Lahora. A padyatra was held in Sector 22 by candidate Arun Goyal.

Candidate of ward 4 Asha Jaswal and in ward 11 Anil Dubey campaigned door-to-door. Chandrawati Shukla in ward 14 assured people that he would get their problems solved. In ward 26,Desraj Gupta addressed public meetings.

The candidates of Chandigarh Jan Manch also campaigned in different wards. Jatinder Kumar Toti received support from different organisations in ward 6,while a function was organised by Jatinder Kumar Kaku in ward 22. Pallav Mukherjee met the residents in ward 2. While Kulwinder Kaur was weighed in ladoos in Burail. Chandigarh Territorial Janata Dal United announced its support fo independent candidates Gurcharan Dass Kala and Baljinder Singh Bittu.
