In yet other twist to the sex scandal allegedly involving former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, an unauthenticated letter said to have been written by the woman in the purported video to the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court requesting to personally supervise the investigation, has surfaced.
In a three-page letter dated March 28, the woman has requested the court to take note of the threat she is facing in this matter and to take up the case and direct the state government to provide her protection and render her justice.

“I have already expressed my apprehension that there is a threat to myself and my parents from Ramesh Jarkiholi, who is a highly influential person…I have requested the Special Investigation Team seeking protection for myself and my parents,” she said.

As many as 16 members of the staff working in a popular pub in North Bengaluru tested positive for coronavirus, after which all others associated with the establishment was sibjected to testing by BBMP officials.
According to BBMP officers from the West Zone, the cases were identified when samples were collected from staffers as part of random testing. "A total of 87 staff members from 1522 - The Pub, situated on New BEL Road in Mathikere have been subjected to testing so far," the official confirmed.
Sir M Visvesvaraya Railway Terminal, situated in Bengaluru’s Baiyappanahalli is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board Suneet Sharma confirmed after an inspection held at soon-to-be India’s first centralised air-conditioned railway terminal.
“We have planned for the inauguration and are waiting for a date from the Prime Minister’s Office. The terminal will become operational very soon,” Sharma said. The terminal is expected to handle 32 pairs of trains once operations begin.

Prices of petrol and diesel in Bengaluru, and other Indian cities, were steady for the fourth consecutive day on Monday.
While each litre of petrol costs Rs 93.82 in Bengaluru, diesel is available for Rs 85.99 per litre.
In Mumbai, petrol is retailing at Rs 97.19, while diesel costs Rs 88.20, data available on Indian Oil Corporation’s website showed. The same in New Delhi is Rs 90.78 per litre for petrol and Rs 81.10 per litre for diesel.
A retired employee of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) was killed after he was run over by a government official in an inebriated condition, late night on Sunday in Mangaluru.
According to Mangaluru police, the incident took place near Circuit House Road at 9.53 pm. “We checked the CCTV cameras at the junction to find that the victim was hit by the speeding car from behind. The deceased was tossed in the air for some distance which led to his death on the spot,” a police officer said.

Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) continued to witness a growing cluster of Covid-19 cases over the weekend as well, with 196 more people on campus testing positive for the infection. While 126 new cases were reported on Saturday, the same was 70 on Sunday.
According to the district administration, the total number of active cases in the cluster has risen to 863, as it continues to be the cluster with the highest active caseload in Karnataka.
At present, coastal Udupi district, which includes this cluster as well, has 814 active cases.

With 3082 more people confirmed of Covid-19 infection across Karnataka on Sunday, the state breached the 3000-mark for the first time since November 5 last year. Bengaluru Urban continued to report most (2004) among all districts in Karnataka.
Meanwhile, 12 more deaths in the last few days were linked to the pandemic on March. Other districts that reported most cases on Sunday are Kalaburagi (159), Udupi (115), Mysuru (114).
Cumulatively, over 9.87 lakh people have contracted the infection of which over 9.51 lakh have recovered in the state. As many as 12,504 people have succumbed to the infection since March 10, 2020.
