Prajwal abuse clips: Revanna gets bail in kidnapping case

According to sources, Revanna is likely to be released from prison on Tuesday.

The MLA was arrested by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Karnataka Police, constituted by the Siddaramaiah government to investigate allegations of sexual assault on multiple women by Prajwal. The allegations were levelled after videos of sexual assault, allegedly involving the Hassan MP, emerged in the public domain ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka on April 26.

Prajwal, who contested the polls as the NDA’s Hassan candidate, is alleged to have fled the country a day after the polls.

The SIT arrested Revanna on May 4 after his anticipatory bail plea in the kidnapping case was rejected by the special court. The probe team traced the victim on May 5.

One of the contentions of the defence counsel for Revanna in the special court was that the woman had not stated anywhere following her rescue that she had been kidnapped at the instance of the MLA.

The court asked the state prosecutors for details of the statements recorded before police or magistrate, where the victim had accused Revanna of kidnapping her. The court pointed out that statements given by the victim implicated Revanna’s son Prajwal for sexual assault but did not implicate Revanna for kidnapping the victim. with pti inputs
