To mark Martyr’s Day,beheaded Indian soldiers’ kin to be felicitated

To mark the Martyr’s Day,the family members of Indian soldiers,whose heads had been chopped off by Pakistani army in January,are in Surat to be felicitated by a local NGO,Rashtra Sena,on Saturday.

To mark the Martyr’s Day,the family members of Indian soldiers,whose heads had been chopped off by Pakistani army in January,are in Surat to be felicitated by a local NGO,Rashtra Sena,on Saturday. Minister of State for Home Rajnikant Patel and Forest Minister Ganpat Vasava are likely to be present in the programme.

In January,Pakistani troops had crossed Line of Control in Poonch district and killed two Indian army soldiers identified as Hemraj Singh of Uttar Pradesh and Sudhakar Singh of Madhya Pradesh.

Sudhakar’s father Sachidanand Singh and his cousin Pankaj Singh and Hemraj’s mother Meena Devi,his brother Jay Singh and his uncle Gajendra Singh will be felicitated here,the organisers said.

Talking to The Indian Express Hemraj’s mother said,“We are proud that he had sacrificed his life for the country.”

His younger brother Jay Singh said,“Hemraj was like my best friend.”

Sudhakar’s father Sachitanand Singh said,“He was very much close to us. We have lost our brave son. We feel proud that he lost his life for the country. We still miss him a lot.”

NGO Rashtra Sena president Vinod Jain said,“We wanted to work for the martyrs. We contacted family members of Hemraj and Sudhakar and decided to felicitate them and give them monetary assistance. At present,we have not fixed the amount. It will be declared on Saturday in the function.”
