SBI to recruit 1,000 executives in state

Country’s largest public sector lender State Bank of India (SBI) said it will recruit close to 1,000 executives,open 70 new branches,and install an additional 300 ATMs in the state this fiscal.

Country’s largest public sector lender State Bank of India (SBI) said it will recruit close to 1,000 executives,open 70 new branches,and install an additional 300 ATMs in the state this fiscal.

Chief General Manager,Gujarat,P Nandakumaran said the launch of portfolio advisory services — SBI Sunrise — is also on the cards. The bank has registered a sharp increase in its mobile banking business in the state.

“The state has emerged as a trendsetter in mobile banking in the country. Of the total customers using mobile banking service,40 per cent are from Gujarat,” Kumaran said

He added the bank has brought 77,266 customers under mobile banking fold. “On an average around 1,000 new customers are getting registered per day at our branches in Gujarat circle,” he said

Total deposits stood at Rs 49,911 crore by March-end and an additional Rs 12,800 crore has been set as target for this fiscal.

As far as the launch of SBI Sunrise is concerned,Kumaran said the Ahmedabad circle has been selected for the pilot scheme.

SBI Sunrise is a portfolio management scheme which has links with the SBI’s Mutual fund operations.

“In addition to routine fund offering,SBI will now be offering a specific product for customers who has got corpus of Rs 10 lakh for investment,” he said,adding that: “The corpus will be managed on a portfolio basis with an indicative return at the desired risk level by customers.”
