Santokben’s son seeks transfer to Porbandar jail from Rajkot

The Gujarat High Court on Friday allowed a petition by Kandhal Jadeja — son of ‘Godmother’ Santok Jadeja — whereby he has demanded directions to the state government to transfer him from Rajkot jail to Porbandar on security ground.

The Gujarat High Court on Friday allowed a petition by Kandhal Jadeja — son of ‘Godmother’ Santok Jadeja — whereby he has demanded directions to the state government to transfer him from Rajkot jail to Porbandar on security ground.

Jadeja had sought transfer stating that he has to be produced before a court in Porbandar quite frequently. He had also expressed apprehension that he could be killed during his transit from Rajkot jail to Porbandar. The government had opposed the petition.

Jadeja was arrested in connection with the murder of BJP Councillor Keshu Nebha Odedara,who was shot dead on march 1,2005,in Porbandar allegedly by Kandhal and his brother,Kano.

Kandhal had escaped from police custody in 2005 from a hospital. He was later caught in Maharashtra and sent to the Rajkot jail.
