Rs 651-cr booster for tourism spots

The state government plans to invest around Rs 651 crore over the next two years to boost infrastructure at its 23 key tourism spots Dwarka,Ambaji,Somnath and Kutch,principal secretary Vipul Mitra said.

The state government plans to invest around Rs 651 crore over the next two years to boost infrastructure at its 23 key tourism spots Dwarka,Ambaji,Somnath and Kutch,principal secretary (tourism) Vipul Mitra said.

“There is a need for improving amenities in key tourist spots and a committee headed by chief secretary has given in-principle approval for the investment of Rs 651 crore in next two years. The infrastructure development will help attract good hotels in these places,” added Mitra.

He added that a scientific study of tourism infrastructure needs showed a need for improvement.
