Rains lash Saurashtra

Moderate to heavy rainfall lashed parts of Saurashtra over the last 24 hours with three talukas in Junagadh district - Kodhinar,Visavadar and Talala being flooded after receiving 10,9 and 8 inches of rains,respectively.

Moderate to heavy rainfall lashed parts of Saurashtra over the last 24 hours with three talukas in Junagadh district – Kodhinar,Visavadar and Talala being flooded after receiving 10,9 and 8 inches of rains,respectively.

According to reports,road links to Songadragir in Talala and between Talala and Veraval were cut off,with roads being submerged in water.

District officials said people from low-lying areas were shifted to safer places after the flood. Rajkot,Amreli,Jamnagar and Bhavnagar also received light to heavy rains.

According to Junagadh district flood control office,since Tuesday evening,Talala and Kodinar recorded very heavy rains.

Rajkot city also received heavy rains on Wednesday afternoon,recording 2 inches of rainfall in an hour.
