Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said he did not believe in drawing a line between Hindus and Muslims.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said he did not believe in drawing a line between Hindus and Muslims. He said the Sachar Committee has also noted that the standard of living of Muslims in Gujarat was the best in the country.

“I am surprised that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today raked up Gujarat in a press conference. I never draw any line between Hindus and Muslims. I work for the uplift of the entire 5.5 crore people of Gujarat,” Modi said at a poll meeting here.

Warning against any misleading remarks or figures on Gujarat,Modi quoted from the “UPA’s own Sachhar Committee”,saying that Gujarat was the only state in the country where Muslims had the maximum number of bank accounts and deposits.

“The Sachhar Committee has also said that the average education and government jobs among Muslims in Gujarat are more than any other state. I never indulge in Hindu-Muslim games. The Prime Minister should not mislead the country on such lines,” he said.
