The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) on Saturday said the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar metro rail would be functional only till 7 pm on Diwali Day — October 20.

The usual timings of the Metro area are between 6:20 am and 10 pm. However, the decision was taken keeping in mind the festivities, which include bursting of firecrackers, and the safety of passengers, the GMRC said in a statement.
