The joint director at the Rajkot regional office of the state information department on Monday served a show-cause notice to the deputy director at its Jamnagar bureau in connection with the goof-up of releasing photographs revealing the identity of a rape victim. We have sought an explanation from the deputy director of our Jamnagar office in connection with the incident of Sunday and asked him to respond within a day, joint director Natubhai Parmar said. Deputy director at Jamnagar bureau had released photographs of state Minister for Education,Vasuben Trivedis meeting with the family members of the girl in a Jamnagar hospital on Sunday evening. But the pictures showed the seven-year-old victim in the foreground. Realising their alleged mistake,the Jamnagar bureau of the information department had requested the press not to publish those photographs.
