The Income Tax Department is organising a three-day event in Vadodara where businesses, local residents and students can take part in the interactive session with department officials. The initiative aims to raise more awareness of the new Income Tax Act and connect with the people in a better way, according to sources. Called the Taxpayer’s Hub, the event is going to be held in Vadodara from October 6 to 8.
Special sessions will be organised by experts for MSMEs (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises), co-operatives, human resource experts and TDS deductors, said the sources.
During the event, the Income Tax Act of 2025 and how it benefits tax payers and how taxes paid by people goes to building the nation, will also be discussed. To make it an interactive and fun exercise, cultural performances by college students in Vadodara, as well as quiz, debate and painting competitions for school and college students will also be organised, according to people familiar with the development. The event is the brainchild of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income-Tax, Gujarat, Ahmedabad and the Chief Commissioner of Income-tax, Surat, along with senior officials.
The department will also hold a day-long interaction in Anand on the last day to interact with traders and MSMEs in the district.
