In A major relief to nearly 150 students of Ahmedabad-based Kesar SAL Medical College,the Gujarat High Court on Thursday directed BJ Medical College and NHL Medical College to provide them necessary certificate after completion of their internship. The court also held that the order would apply to other students studying at Kesar SAL Medical College.
The HC Division Bench comprising Chief Justice S J Mukhopadhaya and Justice Akil Kureshi directed the two colleges to issue these students internship certificates mentioning that they belong to Kesar SAL Medical College and did internship at their college under HCs order.
The court also held they would be considered as students passed out from a recognised institution by the Gujarat University.
Fire at B J Medical College lab
AHMEDABAD: A FIRE broke out at the B J Medical College around 2 pm on Thursday reportedly due to short circuit in the Post Graduate computer lab on the third floor of the building.
College staff said nobody was present at the time of the mishap,adding that a glass partition prevented the smoke from billowing into the adjacent library.
B J Medical College Additional Dean Dr Pranay Shah said: There was no loss of books,but four computers,a printer,two ACs,a scanner and three to four monitors have been damaged. A student and a staff member saw smoke in the laboratory and alerted the college authorities. Most of the students were on the second floor when the incident occurred.
Nearly 60 students gathered to douse the blaze. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) fire department was also alerted. Dr Shah said,The fire department had to break the glass to douse the fire.
Dy Chief Fire Officer B R Verma said: The incident occurred due to short circuit near the AC.
Just a week ago,a short circuit had been reported in the catheterisation laboratory of V S Hospital.
